I’m back in York for a day’s writing retreat at which I’m finishing loads of almost-completed flash fiction drafts. The two photos above were either side of the road on my 20 min walk/commute this morning. It was a glorious start to the day, though it’s mad hot in York now (no worries now as there’s aircon where I am). But what a gorgeous commute. York St John Quad to the left of me, Roman city walls to the right and (to re-jig Stealer’s Wheel), me stuck in the middle.
Anyhoo the flash I was banging on about at the end of last week’s post is now published. I didn’t win the comp but it has been beautifully produced in WestWord. Here it is, in case anyone fancies a read. (1) The Slaking of Sorrow – WestWord
